Hair removal on vacation: what you ab-so-lutely need to know
Your well-deserved vacation is just around the corner. Wonderful! Time to start thinking about what to pack. If you’re heading somewhere warm, summer dresses, a good sun hat, and sunscreen are obviously must-haves for your suitcase.

Don’t panic. In this blog post, I’ll answer 5 important questions about hair removal on vacation. Read through it and head off with peace of mind. Because yes, even on vacation, you can continue to enjoy smooth skin without itching, red bumps, and ingrown hairs.
1. Can you take a razor in your carry-on luggage?
No, unfortunately, most airlines don’t allow sharp objects like a razor in your carry-on. Are you flying to your destination and want to bring a razor? Then I recommend packing your razor in your checked luggage.
Tip: Want to take your YIONN razor with you? Store your single blade YIONN razor safely in a protective case and bring a spare blade (in its original packaging) just in case.
2. How do I take my YIONN products on vacation?
All YIONN products come in packaging that can take a beating. So you can take them with you with peace of mind and don’t have to worry about leaks. What you do need to keep in mind—when traveling to your destination by plane—is the product’s volume in ml.
When traveling with carry-on only, a product can contain a maximum of 100 ml. This means that, unfortunately, you cannot take the Kjarr scrub and peeling (125 ml), the shaving creams (200 ml), and the body creams (250 ml) in your carry-on.
Of course, you can take them in smaller quantities using travel bottles and jars. The Raka and Róa treatment lotions (90 ml) and the Náinn (75 ml) can be taken in your carry-on in their original packaging. Great!
Is checked luggage included in your flight or did you book it separately? Then you can take all YIONN products—including the razor—on vacation. Just make sure that any already opened packaging is tightly closed to prevent accidents.
3. If I forgot something, can I also buy YIONN products abroad?
That would be great, of course, but unfortunately, YIONN products are not available abroad. At least, not in stores.

4. How do I use YIONN products in combination with sunscreen?
I advise women who want trouble-free hair removal to follow a set number of steps for every hair removal session: clean your skin with the Kjarr scrub and peeling, remove hair using a method of your choice (shaving, waxing, etc.), and then soothe your skin with the Náinn balm.
After hair removal, you prevent itching, red bumps, and ingrown hairs by applying the Raka or Roa treatment lotion to your problem area daily. But when do you apply sunscreen? Before or after hair removal? To prevent skin irritation, do not apply sunscreen immediately after hair removal.
First, give your skin a chance to recover from hair removal. On vacation, I recommend removing hair in the evening, so your skin can enjoy its well-deserved rest overnight.
5. My skin is (slightly) sunburned: can I continue with hair removal?
It happens to everyone sometimes: despite careful application, your skin is sunburned. You unintentionally missed a patch of skin or forgot to reapply after a dip in the sea.
What now? Your skin is red and feels warm. Can I still remove hair? If your skin is sunburned, it’s best to give it as much rest as possible. That means applying plenty of a restorative, hydrating cream and not removing hair for a day or two. It’s also best not to expose sunburned skin to the sun again. Remember: the more rest you give your skin, the faster it recovers.

It’s clear. Even on vacation, you can continue to enjoy an irritation-free bikini line, radiant legs, and beautiful armpits. It does require a bit of attention and care, but it certainly doesn’t have to be difficult.
