The 7 most common mistakes when shaving the bikini line
Do you suffer from irritation such as red bumps (that look like pimples), itching, or micro-cuts after shaving your bikini line? Then there is a good chance you can improve your shaving routine in several ways.
I will help you avoid the 7 most common mistakes when shaving the bikini line for a more beautiful, smoother shaving result.

1. Your skin is not clean
Have you ever considered that it is important to clean the skin of your intimate zone before you start shaving? Perhaps not. By cleaning your skin well beforehand, you prevent bacteria from entering the open hair follicles during shaving.
I recommend always taking a warm shower first, as this makes the hairs softer, and to exfoliate with YIONN Kjarr while showering. This removes dead skin cells and bacteria.

2. Your hairs are too long
If it has been a while since you last shaved, your hairs are too long to shave with just a razor. Your razor will clog immediately and can no longer cut the hairs cleanly. This increases the chance of torn hairs (and therefore irritation). Make sure to trim the hairs first. Use a clean trimmer or scissors for this.
3. The razor is of poor quality
Are you still shaving with multi-blade razors? Then switch to a single-blade razor for women. This cuts hairs sharply and puts less stress on your sensitive skin. Always make sure you use a sharp razor blade, so replace them on time and clean and dry them after each use. If you shave with a blade that is not clean or is blunt, you increase the risk of irritation.

4. You are not using protection
Shaving without protection is a common mistake. To let the razor glide over the skin, only water or an unsuitable product such as shower gel is used. Are you guilty of this? Time to change that quickly. Before you start shaving, it is best to protect your skin with a transparent shaving gel for women. This way you protect your skin and can see exactly what you are doing. Let the gel soak in for a moment and then you can shave. After shaving, rinse off any residue with warm water.
5. You don’t take hair direction into account
From top to bottom, from left to right, do you move the razor in all possible directions while shaving? Ouch! I get it, especially when you have to shave hard-to-reach areas. Still, it’s better not to do this, because shaving against the hair direction causes irritation. So first check which way the hairs grow. Move the razor in that same direction.

6. You don’t care for your skin after shaving
Shaving can be quite a task, and when you’re finally done, you want to get on with your day quickly. Very understandable! But don’t forget to take good care of your skin after shaving.
Use an aftershave balm such as the nourishing YIONN NĂ¡inn aftercare balm with chamomile. A fragrance-free balm after shaving provides immediate cooling and calms your skin. This helps any redness fade quickly and reduces the chance of further irritation.
7. The clothes you wear don’t let your skin breathe
What do you put on after shaving? It is wise to avoid tight clothing such as trousers, briefs, and boxers for a while after shaving.
Because the skin needs to recover from a shave, it is best to wear light, loose clothing after shaving so your skin can recover and get enough air. Did you make the mistake of immediately putting on your favorite tight-fitting lingerie or jeans? Not anymore from now on.
Which of the above mistakes are you guilty of? Now that you know what you should especially not (and should) do when shaving your bikini line, you can hopefully prevent itching, red bumps, and ingrown hairs in the future.

YIONN Raka is truly a top product! A gentle solution for those annoying, painful ingrown hairs, especially when combined with the scrub.

I thought: you know what, I’ll just give it a try! OMG!!! I really should have done that sooner. I’m 37 now and for the first time, I dare to wear a bikini bottom with pride
. What a miracle cure! Not a single bit of irritation to be found. It’s still bizarre. And I really suffered from it.

A product that does what it promises, easy to use. I now have almost all the products and won’t use anything else.

After 2 weeks, I already noticed a difference. Almost no bumps and itching anymore after shaving. I’m definitely going to try more products.

I’ve often used things like this but they never helped me, even though others were always satisfied with them, and I felt the same about
this product too, but I ordered it anyway and it took a bit longer for me, but it definitely helped!

Much less irritation and bumps. The shaving gel and Raka are truly my favorites; last time I bought shaving foam out of necessity and immediately got bumps
and irritation again…

From certified nurse to hair removal expert:
I’m Wendy, the founder of YIONN. I know better than anyone what it’s like to go through life with shaving discomforts.
After desperately trying all sorts of ways and remedies for red shaving bumps and ingrown hairs and spending a lot of money, I was
sick of it.
I decided to find a solution for my shaving irritation myself that actually worked, and I succeeded!
I developed Raka, a caring lotion based on rose water, camphor, and willow bark. By applying a thin layer to the problem area, it easily and quickly calms the skin after hair removal, prevents red bumps, and lets the hair grow out again—instead of in.
And with that, I could finally say goodbye to my insecurity and discomfort.
Hallelujah.
When it later turned out that Raka worked not only for me but also for many other women, I started creating several other products around it that can make hair removal a pleasant experience again.
And because I am so convinced of how it works and I don’t want to keep your money in the rare case that you aren’t satisfied, I came up with the unique YIONN 30-day money-back guarantee (a guarantee you normally never get on hygiene products).
