Arm hair removal: how do you go about it?

Would you like (in addition to waxing your legs, armpits, bikini line and face) to wax your arms?

You can approach it in different ways.

Which method you choose depends on your budget, how often you want to wax your arms and whether you want to wax your arms yourself or like to visit a salon. Methods for hair removal on your arms I like to share with you 4 hair removal methods suitable for hair removal on your arms. Here they are.

1. Shave

Shaving is a popular hair removal method among women. It’s easy, fast and affordable. Like your legs, you can also depilate your arms with a razor. Then choose a single-blade razor. It is less likely to clog and easier to clean than a (disposable) multi-blade blade. Additionally, to prevent wounds and protect your skin while shaving, I recommend using a transparent shaving cream.

4. Permanent hair removal

Another method for hair removal on your arms is permanent hair removal. This method does exactly what the name suggests: remove your hair permanently. This is done using a laser device that uses flashes of light to heat and destroy the hair follicles. The result is no recurring hair growth. The method is virtually painless and there is little chance of irritation. The downside is that it is an expensive treatment that requires multiple visits to a specialized salon.

Irritation after hair removal

An undesirable effect of most hair removal methods is skin irritation. You may experience itching, red bumps, a burning sensation, ingrown hairs and inflammation. Your skin may react differently per hair removal method so trying different ways of hair removal is recommended. Skin irritation due to hair removal, by the way, is a normal reaction of your skin. Every woman suffers from this – to a greater or lesser extent. Fortunately, there is something you can do about it – with the help of proper care.

Taking care of your arms before and after hair removal

Clean, healthy, nourished skin responds better to hair removal. Therefore, prior to hair removal, whether you choose shaving or another method, it is wise to cleanse the skin properly. A good way is exfoliation. You remove dirt and dead skin cells and prevent unwanted invaders such as bacteria from entering your skin. After depilating your arms, I recommend using a caring and nourishing cream – such as the YIONN Nainn lotion with vitamin E, mint oil, aloe vera and chamomile. This soothes your skin and nourishes it intensively.

Develop a routine that suits you

When it comes to personal care, everyone has their own routine. From brushing teeth to visiting the beauty salon. We shape it in our own way, but we all want the best for ourselves and our bodies. There are a number of steps you can incorporate into your grooming routine that will help ensure trouble-free hair removal. Nourishing, exfoliating, caring for and maintaining your skin are a must. In addition to the general care products you already have in your home, I recommend you start using a lotion developed specifically for women who depilate regularly: the YIONN Raka lotion. You use this lotion daily for the first three weeks and then build up to several times a week (depending on what your skin needs). This lotion is specially designed to prevent itching, red bumps and ingrown hairs.

To shave or not to shave is a choice, shaving irritation now thankfully also!

YIONN has developed the perfect product for every step of your shaving routine!

You’re fed up. Those annoying red bumps, ingrown hairs, and itching after shaving your bikini line, underarms, and legs. It leaves you feeling frustrated and anything but confident.

No woman should ever feel that way, and neither should you!

First, let me reassure you: there’s nothing wrong with your skin. Your skin is simply doing what it’s designed to do, reacting to the stress of shaving, which leads to unwanted side effects like itching and red bumps.

That’s not the result we women want, so we need to give our skin and nature a little extra help. And that’s exactly what YIONN products are designed to do!
