This is the ultimate hair removal routine for those who epilate or wax

If you’ve been reading along here on the blog for a bit longer you’ve heard me talk about it extensively: the YIONN routine. A routine that I have developed from years of my own experience for hassle-free hair removal – as often as I want. The routine consists of 5 steps, but the interpretation is slightly different for different hair removal methods.

Carefree epilation or waxing in 5 steps

Today I’d like to share with you how the routine works when waxing or tweezing. Because, as with shaving, when waxing and tweezing, your skin requires proper preparation for – and care after – hair removal.

“Epilation is the second most popular hair removal method among women after shaving. This is followed by waxing. That’s why I chose to make my products suitable not only for women who shave, but also for those who (in addition) epilate and/or wax.”

This is the ultimate hair removal routine for those who epilate or wax

Step 1: Cleaning

Whatever hair removal method you choose, hair removal is stressful for your skin and requires good hygiene. Because, the cleaner your skin, the less likely it is to have unwanted invaders such as dirt, soap scum and bacteria. Because epilation and waxing involve pulling the hair out of the skin with root and all, you have to be extra careful.

A good way to cleanse your skin and keep the hair shaft well clear – so you avoid red bumps and ingrown hairsis regular exfoliation. For example, with YIONN’s Kjarr scrub and exfoliator. I recommend doing this 2-3 per week.

Step 2: Protect

To minimize the impact of epilating or waxing on your skin, extra protection is needed. You can compare this to putting on sunscreen before going out in the sun. You want to make sure your skin resistance is optimal.

YIONN’ s Náinn balm is an ideal product for building resistance prior to epilation and waxing. With this, you give your skin the best preparation for the treatment. It reduces the degree of irritation as well as the duration of irritation that can occur after epilation and waxing.

I recommend applying the Náinn balm for 5 days before you want to epilate or wax. For example, before bedtime.

Step 3: Hair removal

Now that your skin is properly cleansed and your skin resistance is built up, the real work can begin: you will epilate or wax. Unfortunately, this is not a completely painless method of hair removal, but fortunately the results are worth it. Be sure to be hygienic to avoid unnecessary irritation.

Step 4: Calming down

After epilating or waxing, your skin needs rest and recovery. To soothe your skin, you can use the Náinn balm – just as you did while preparing for hair removal.

This balm instantly soothes your stressed skin thanks to the addition of chamomile, mint oil and aloe vera. You will immediately notice that redness and the well-known burning sensation diminish

Step 5: Prevention

Now that you have removed all unwanted hair growth, you want to start enjoying smooth skin. Unfortunately, 99% of women experience red bumps, ingrown hairs or itching after hair removal. Fortunately, there is a way to prevent this after epilating or waxing.

How? Using my Raka treatment lotion. On the day after your epilating or waxing treatment, you can start applying this natural rosewater-based lotion daily. After the 3-week start-up phase, you can phase out the use as needed, such as 1-2 times a week.

Did you go through all the steps?

Then start again at step 1, because even before your next epilating or waxing, it is necessary to cleanse your skin properly. Moreover, skin cells are constantly renewing themselves, so it is still necessary to remove dead skin cells.

You can also use the Kjarr scrub and exfoliate to loosen any ingrown hairs that may have developed. Are you starting to see the big picture? Carefree hair removal is more than just the epilation or waxing itself. It requires a total approach, a routine.

Make it part of your regular beauty ritual

Scrubbing and treating and preventing red bumps, ingrown hairs and itching with the Raka lotion can be included in your standard beauty ritual. Just like applying face cream daily or brushing your teeth. Before and after epilating and waxing, take extra care of your skin using the Náinn aftershave balm. Not complicated at all, right?
