Hair removal on Holiday: this is ab-so-lutely what you need to know
Your well-deserved vacation is just around the corner. Delicious! Time to start thinking about what you’re bringing. If you are going to a warm place, then of course summer dresses, a good sun hat and sunscreen should not be missing in your suitcase. But, how do you do that with your favorite YIONN products? Help, how on earth am I going to keep up my bikini line and shave my legs and armpits on vacation? Don’t panic. In this blog article, I answer the 5 important questions about hair removal on vacation. Read through it and go on vacation with peace of mind. Because yes, even on vacation you can continue to enjoy shaved skin without itching, red bumps and ingrown hairs.
1. Is a razor allowed in your carry-on luggage?
No, unfortunately most airlines do not allow you to carry sharp objects such as a razor in your carry-on luggage. Are you going on vacation by plane and want to take a razor with you? Then I recommend bringing your razor in your checked luggage. Tip: Want to bring your YIONN razor? Then store your single blade YIONN razor safely in a protective case and bring a spare razor blade (in its original packaging) just to be sure.
2. How do I take my YIONN products with me on vacation?
All YIONN products have packaging that can take a beating. So you can take them with confidence and not have to worry about leaks. What you want to consider – when traveling to your destination by plane – is the content in ml of the product. In fact, when traveling in carry-on luggage only, a product may contain a maximum of 100 ml. That means you can’t take the Kjarr scrub and peel (125 ml), shaving creams (200 ml) and body creams (250 ml) in your carry-on luggage, unfortunately. You can, of course, carry them in smaller quantities using travel vials and jars. However, the treatment lotions Raka and Róa (90 ml) and the Náinn (75 ml) can be carried in their original packaging in your hand luggage. Super! Is checked baggage included with your flight or did you book it on top? Then you can take all YIONN products – including the razor – with you on vacation. Make sure already opened packaging is tightly sealed to avoid accidents.
3. If I forgot something can I buy YIONN products abroad?
That would be great, of course, but unfortunately YIONN products are not available abroad. At least, not in stores. 4. How do I use YIONN products in combination with sunscreen?
I advise women who want hassle-free hair removal to follow a set number of steps with every hair removal: cleanse your skin the Kjarr scrub and exfoliate, depilate via a method of your choice (shaving, waxing, etc) and then soothe your skin with the Náinn balm. After hair removal, prevent itching, red bumps and ingrown hairs by applying Raka or Roa treatment lotion to your problem area daily. But, when do you apply sunscreen? Before or after hair removal? In any case, to avoid skin irritation, do not apply sunscreen immediately after hair removal. First, give your skin a chance to recover from hair removal. On vacation, I recommend waxing in the evening so your skin can enjoy its well-deserved rest at night.
5. My skin is (slightly) sunburned: can I continue to depilate?
It happens to everyone sometimes: despite careful lubrication, your skin is burned by the sun. You unintentionally skipped a patch of skin or forgot to re-lubricate after a swim in the sea. Now what? Your skin is red and feels warm. Can I still wax? If your skin is sunburned, it is best to give it as much rest as possible. That means smearing heavily with a restorative, moisturizing cream and not waxing for one or two days. It is also best not to re-expose burnt skin to the sun. Remember: the more rest you allow your skin the faster it will recover.

It should be obvious. Even on vacation, you can continue to enjoy an irritation-free bikini line, radiant legs and gorgeous armpits.
