What you need to know for a brazilian wax

Brazil. The land of soccer, samba, carnival and sun-drenched dream beaches. A land so sensual, sultry and seductive that several intimate things were even named after it.

In fact, a “Brazilian” can refer to both a sexy type of underwear and an intimate hair removal method. Today, however, I discuss option number two: the Brazilian wax.

What is it? Does it hurt? Can you do it while you have your period?

And of course the big key question: what exactly is removed during such a waxing session? (Or rather, what about that buttock and buttocks?)

An answer to all your questions (and more) can be found below!

The Brazilian

As we head toward summer, it’s time again to hit the beach in your new bikini or swimsuit. You want to look your best. And that from head to toe. This, of course, includes your bikini line.

To touch up your pubic area, there are several hair removal methods. And the Brazilian wax is one of them.

What is a Brazilian wax?

Waxing is nothing more than removing hair with a sticky substance. You can use it anywhere. On your legs, bikini line, armpits, and yes even on your mustache.

However, a Brazilian wax focuses on the pubic area. (Whether you also have your buttock done is up to you, but most salons include it in the price). All hairs are removed. With hair root and all.

The big advantage of this is that it keeps the hair away longer than if you shave it. With any luck, you’ll be as much as 4 to 6 weeks hair-free!

The hairs that grow back also feel a lot softer and are less stubbly.

How does it work?

The process of a Brazilian wax is quite simple. To begin with, you should first not wax for a while beforehand. After all, your hair should be about half an inch long.

Then your skin is disinfected and dusted with talcum powder. This is necessary so that the resin does not stick too much to your skin.

Then the beautician applies hot wax over the hair with a spatula. After a few seconds, the resin hardens and she pulls it off in one swift motion.

Does it hurt?

Fair is fair: waxing can be quite painful. And certainly the very first time. However, you quickly notice that each session is less and less painful. Pleasant it will probably never be, but it is becoming more bearable.

So bite your teeth and don’t drop out the first time.

Tip! Don’t get waxed just before, during or after your lines. It is certainly allowed, but during your period you are much more sensitive and your pain threshold is lower than usual. This can make the whole process extra painful.

Can I do it myself?

It’s better not to do a Brazilian wax yourself. It is a difficult and somewhat painful procedure that requires you to be incredibly hygienic. Are you doing it wrong? Then the risk of infections and unnecessary complications is high.

Moreover, the pain will also be a lot less if you have it done by someone who knows what he or she is doing.

Tip! Watch out for unprofessional waxing salons! Finding a good salon takes a little more time and money, but it is well worth it.

So inform yourself well or ask your friends for recommendations. Online reviews can also be very helpful.

Will I no longer have itching, bumps or ingrown hairs?

A month of silky smooth skin without stubble? Bring on that wax!

Unfortunately, waxed hairs are also replaced by new ones again. And because you pull the hair out root by root, the chance of ingrown hairs is a bit higher than with other hair removal methods. Scrubbing and proper aftercare will help you along.

Tip! YIONN Raka or Róa will help you in fighting ingrown hairs but do not use them on the day of the treatment itself. Because then your skin is still too sensitive.

Every woman is unique and depending on your schedule, wallet and pain threshold, there is a hair removal method that is perfect for you.

However, finding them sometimes requires some work, effort and time. Here we are happy to help you further!

To shave or not to shave is a choice, shaving irritation now thankfully also!

YIONN has developed the perfect product for every step of your shaving routine!

You’re fed up. Those annoying red bumps, ingrown hairs, and itching after shaving your bikini line, underarms, and legs. It leaves you feeling frustrated and anything but confident.

No woman should ever feel that way, and neither should you!

First, let me reassure you: there’s nothing wrong with your skin. Your skin is simply doing what it’s designed to do, reacting to the stress of shaving, which leads to unwanted side effects like itching and red bumps.

That’s not the result we women want, so we need to give our skin and nature a little extra help. And that’s exactly what YIONN products are designed to do!
